Yarn:  Acrylic baby yarn

Needles: Set of 5dpns 2.5mm

Abbreviations

k: knit

p: purl

sl: slip

ssk: slip 2 stitches as if to knit and then k2tog through the back loop

sts: stitches

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

Pattern

Cuff

- Cast on 40sts onto dpn, then transfer onto 4 (10sts per needle), join in the round making sure not to twist the cast on edge.

- Work 18 rounds of k2 p2 rib

Heel & heel flap

- Separate 20sts for heel, and knit 15 rows, making sure to slip the first stitch on every row purlwise.

- Turn the heel with short rows as follows:

Row 1: sli1 st, k12, ssk, k1, turn

Row 2: sli1 st, p7, p2tog, p1, turn

Row 3: sli1 st, k8, ssk, k1, turn

Row 4: sl1 st, p9, p2tog, p1, turn

Row 5: sli1 st, k10, ssk, k1, turn

Row 6: sl1 st, p11, p2tog, p1, turn

Row 7: k1 row

Gusset

- Pick up 8sts on each side of the heel and divide heel sts evenly so that the row begins in the middle of the bottom of the foot.

Body of foot

- Work 16 rnds from the middle of the bottom of the foot.

Shape instep

1st rnd:

Needle A: knit to last 3sts ssk, k1

Needle B: knit

Needle C: k1, k2tog, knit to end of needle

2nd rnd: knit

* cont even until needle A and C left 10sts on each needle.

Shape toe

1st rnd:

Needle A: knit to last 3sts ssk, k1

Needle B: k1, k2tog, knit to last 3sts ssk, k1

Needle C: k1, k2tog, knit to end of needle

2nd rnd: knit

* rep last 2 rnds

Graft 2 sets of 18 using Kitchener stitch.
